District Updates

Did you know that over 90% of all wildland fires across the United States are caused by people? Whether it be discarded cigarettes, unattended campfires, burning debris or simply just equipment malfunctions, millions of dollars’ worth of damage are caused annually. We have had a very mild winter and I know most of us are not complaining about that. However, that has created very dry conditions which are perfect for wildfires. Please do your part and dispose of your cigarette butts properly, attend to your recreational fires and don’t burn things you know you aren’t supposed to. For additional information, please contact us.

NEW EQUIPMENT

Our district needed to become more effective and efficient when it came to wildland fires and operations. We have a lot of parks, trails, lakes and wetlands within our response area. We acquired a new Polaris Pro Diesel UTV equipment with a 95 gallon water tank! This will be a valuable asset to the district and we are excited to get it into service in the early months of 2024. This UTV's call sign with be Grass 3 and it will be housed at our Station 3.
